New Start
They say Substack is growing, so I'll hop in to share my thoughts.
Hello! I hope you’re doing well.
Lately in the past few weeks, I’ve been digging Threads and I revived my love for creating text form content and also my love for reading. I’ve spend last year trying to create short form videos and video podcast. It was okay so far, but I just couldn’t spare too much of my time wasted on creating videos while having many ideas in my head. Thoughts of “I should talk about this or that” would always appear before I sleep, however I was already too sleepy to even move.
So I came across Threads as something that’s potential for me. Hence, I invested a few minutes every few hours of my day posting on Threads and replying to random posts which I could elaborate my thoughts.
At one point, I saw someone mentioned Substack there and somehow it ignited the love of reading in that person. I’ve come across Substack a few years before but it never really took a hit on me, especially the abundance of video form content during the past few years.
Many AI videos were rising and the content itself was rather doubtful. I seek genuine content from genuine creators, not only randomly generated AI content for the sake of monetisation.
Text form content, I believe, will rise in the upcoming times since everyone mentioned about doomscrolling by watching videos mindlessly and endlessly, and some were scared about experiencing brainrot. One best way to fix brainrot is to return to reading instead of watching videos.
I am myself an avid reader. Despite that, I’d still find myself unconsciously scrolling short form videos hoping to see something even exciting. From then on, I forced myself to never open the part of the social media app which shows the short form content, and even if I’d still watch that kind of content, I’d curate them to only show things that aligns with my interests and arouses my intellectual part of me.
Perhaps, this will be the start of me writing more on this platform as I saw the potential, which was also amplified by one of my favourite influencer, Gary Vee. He mentioned about Substack on his podcast and I also saw his profile which he’d regularly post content there too.
You’re welcomed to hang around here. Have a great day!
